Background

From silicon to education — and back again.

Puneet Mittal spent his career inside the semiconductor industry — at Synopsys, Cadence, Magma and LSI Logic — before leaving corporate in 2016 to build VLSI EXPERT full-time. His educational background: B.E. in EEE from COER, M.E. from BITS Pilani, MBA from Symbiosis Pune.

What he saw in those years: a consistent gap between what engineering colleges taught and what semiconductor companies actually needed. Students with strong theory but no real tool experience. No one answering their questions. No structured path from college to industry. The free VLSI blog he started in 2008 to answer those questions became the foundation of VLSI EXPERT.
